This Trixie Car Seat is the best purchase I could have made and a great price from Amazon.My Yorkshire terrier loves this seat, once we get moving he just lies down. I firstly tried a dog seat belt without success and then a fabric carrier, he wasn't at all happy just crying and trying to dig his way out which is very distracting when you are driving. I had a look on line to see what I could find and after reading reviews on other web sites thought I would give it a try. I know the sides aren't rigid but are quite thick and soft which makes it more comfortable when the dog lies down and with the dog seatbelt attached to his harness he stays in his place .Being in the passenger seat he can see me so is now nice and calm which makes us both happy. Worth every pennyFor a small dog, this is as good as it gets !!! By small I mean, Terrier size. Then they can lie down move about etc, comfortable. Holding straps are good quality, lining etc are excellent quality. I was not sure what the under side open bit/void was for, I just used the box it came in to fill the gap so it was a booster seat. They love to look out don't they. I am not up on the tech thing on this site, but I bought the R.S.P.C.A Dog Harness to go with this. I disabled my passenger seat crash/air bag thingy. Re-routed the fixing point . And now I have a 100% happy, safe, little dog. This really is a great product.My 3.2kg Morkie (Yorkie/ Maltese cross) fits well in the booster seat. It's very secure with the many straps and doesn't move, and gives him a bit of extra height to look out of the window. The underneath storage should also come in handy and overall I'm impressed and would favour this seat over many others on amazon. The only criticisms i would give are there's a partition in the storage area which helps to stop the seat area from dipping, and this could be better designed as it bends when my dog is on the seat. I remedied this by using spare sheet polystyrene i have. Might not be an issue if your dog is lighter. Also, the harness strap is very short, but i use a seatbelt extension anyway so don't need to use it. Overall it's a good product for the moneyReally impressed by other reviewers so chose this above others. Arrived ahead of delivery date. It's good but only 3 star rating becauseA. One of the straps that goes round the back of the seat isn't connecting properly - keeps popping out. Can't be bothered to return it so got the duck tape out.B. I may be being stupid, but I think it's designed for left hand drive cars. The in-pen leash that attaches to the dog's collar is on the left side of the pen when the mesh faces forwards in the front seat. My poor puppy is then straining to reach the right side of the pen near me, the driver. Will solve this by buying an extra collar from local pet shop to extend the length of this leash (I do realise that the point of it is to stop the dog jumping around ! But near strangulation???.)Disappointing quality for the priceLooked brilliant in the photo but when it arrived & I started to assemble it I was very disappointed in the quality. The bottom compartment only has a piece of what feels like card covered in material with velcro each end to support the top part. This piece of card or whatever it is just goes across the centre of the bottom compartment. Everything is attached via zips which in my opinion would not stand too much use i.e putting together & taking apart. There are much sturdier & more robust dog car seats at the same price which would be up to the job in my opinion. I only have a small yorkie but ended up buying another car seat which was much better quality, more robust for the same price. Don't waste your money on this 1
